Note that as of a relatively recent update (Winter's Feast) the game will attempt to guess what you are typing into the console making it easier to type them correctly and is immensely helpful when trying to spawn items as a number of them (such as the battle spear) have very strange true names (spear_wathgrithr, that's wigfrid's stage name) so you no longer have to use the wiki if you can guess well enough. Note that commands that rely on the cursor position will not behave any differently. You can select other players using the command c_select(AllPlayers) and then type a command that you can normally only apply to yourself (such as c_give or c_sethealth) with that command being applied to the player with said number.

I guess it goes without saying that if your map is absolutely ludiredicumongously large (Megarandom mod) then you will probably want to increase 1600 to something bigger, but it's probably not even possible to make a map big enough for that to be a problem because I've made maps using that mod and I used this command on them. Just press ctrl again and then press enter and it will work. Make sure that when you paste this into the console that the little word on the left of the box says REMOTE and not CLIENT, for some reason the button that toggles this is ctrl so it will change if you paste it.
